About Heartkind Home Veterinary Care

Chrissy Nawash, DVM, CHPV
Veterinarian & Founder
I began my veterinary career in general practice and shelter medicine, but over time I found myself most drawn to caring for senior pets and supporting families through end-of-life decisions.
What began as an interest gradually became a calling. I was deeply moved by the trust families place in their veterinarian during life’s most difficult moments — and by how much a calm, thoughtful presence can matter.
That calling led me to pursue additional training and certification in hospice and palliative care (CHPV) through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC). My work now focuses on comfort care, quality of life guidance, and peaceful in-home euthanasia when the time is right.
Care for Senior Pets and End of Life Support
Heartkind Home Veterinary Care is dedicated to supporting senior pets and guiding families through serious illness, hospice care, and end-of-life decisions.
Whether you are beginning to notice changes in your aging pet, facing a difficult diagnosis, or preparing for a peaceful goodbye, care is provided with thoughtfulness, clarity, and respect — always in the comfort of home.
The focus is not only on medical care, but on helping families feel supported, informed, and steady during an emotional time.

Why This Work Matters to Me
My own experience losing a dog just before veterinary school shaped the way I practice today. Even after a long battle with cancer, his sudden decline caught us off guard. We were unprepared, and we weren’t able to give him the peaceful goodbye we had hoped for.
That experience stayed with me.
It is the reason I believe families deserve clear guidance before a crisis, thoughtful comfort care when a cure is no longer the goal, and the opportunity for a peaceful, unhurried goodbye when the time comes.
No family should feel confused or alone in those moments.

Professional Certification
I am certified in hospice and palliative care (CHPV) through the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC).
I have also completed advanced training through the Senior Dog Veterinary Society, focused on the medical and practical needs of aging dogs.
